First, I want to thank you for your help in choosing the engagement ring a couple months ago. It is gorgeous and worth every cent of the $16K. Whiteflash was equally helpful & I highly recommend them.

Second, I’d like some general advice on diamond stud earrings. I suspect color & clarity are even less important than in a ring. Is platinum still worth the cost vs 14 or 18kt white gold? At what size do the rewards start diminishing? I’m looking around 0.5 to 0.8ct. (1-1.6cttw) and suspect round stones are most impressive.

    hi,

im looking for a diamond to get engaged. the setting would be the simplest, cheapest solitaire setting i could get because we will get the nicer setting she wants after we are engaged.

my budget right now is about 7k-7.4k just for the diamond. hoping the simple setting will be only a couple extra hundrew

im looking for the specs below prefferably:
    shape – round
    carat – 1.1-1.2ish
    color – I or up
clarity – si1 or up. the nicer the better of course. the least amount of inclusions as possible.
    table – 56-57 preferably
    cut – excellent
    gia certified

any help tracking down a diamond with the above criteria would be MUCH! appreciated.

im up in the air on florescence as well. I found a vs1, i color, 1.2 carat, all excellent but with strong blue florescence in my price range. i think the bluish color would look very nice but im concerned about haziness.

would the diamond be hazy only if it is UV light or always? this diamond is online so i would not be able to look at it personally.

    thanks for any help!!

    tyler
